Over the weekend, the time finally came to celebrate my dear friend’s hens’ night. Saturday began with a 4.30am trip to my favourite flower man at the markets, with torch in hand, to pick up 20 dozen roses in varying shades of pink and yellow, and was followed by a morning of arranging the flowers in a mis-matched collection of cut glass vases. We used black paper with a dark grey pinstripe for the table runner and made menus to match the invitations. With a silver three candle candelabra as the centerpiece, I arranged the vases at different heights and encased some smaller arrangements in large glass hurricanes, then finished with a scattering of tealight candles in a collection of different glass holders. The table looked beautiful – I was so happy with how it turned out. And the night didn’t disappoint either – a perfect evening with delicious food and wine, good friends and lots and lots of dancing.

They are just a selection of different varieties from the man I buy roses from every Saturday at the markets. They’re grown just outside of Toowoomba here in Queensland. And if you can imagine how beautiful they looked when they opened up even more the next day!?

Wow that is such an amazing place to find them! It must be great fun going to the markets, and i think the Toowoomba is certainly living up to it’s nickname as ‘The Garden City’! I dearly hope to visit the area one day, so now i know where to go for my roses! 🙂 Thanks so much for the info!
        Cheers! 🙂
